While  are unable to offer horse riding experiences at Kionslieu but work closely with the very experienced Bryony Collinson and her team at Ballahimmin, a 15 minute drive from the farm & where our guests receive a 10% discount.

Ballahimmin Riding School & Trekking Centre

Ballahimmin is a family run riding school and pony trekking centre that has been in operation for over 20 years in the beautiful Little London hills at Cronk-y-Voddy. You can ride through stunning trails with breathtaking views over land and sea and when staying at Kionslieu you’ll receive a 10% discount!

You’ll love the breathtaking views over land and sea, through your horses ears!

The peace and tranquility is only interrupted by an abundance of wildlife; the distinctive sound of the Curlew, a sighting of a Hen Harrier or seeing hares ‘boxing’ in Spring can be often witnessed whilst out trekking.

Beginners to advanced riders welcome

Beginners to the more advanced all catered for! All treks are supervised by experienced guides and full instructions and riding equipment provided.

The Hill Trek (just over an hour in the saddle)

The most popular ride is the hill trek which is all off road up around the hills and is suitable for all ages and abilities including beginners as full instruction is given prior to and during the ride. This ideal family group trek lasts between 1hr-1hr 15 mins (not including preparation time for forms, hat fitting, mounting up, checks etc.)

The Hill Trek (2 hours in saddle)

The two hour hill trek is for those who’d like longer in the saddle.

The Beginner Trek

The shorter beginner trek is generally for younger riders and is around 35 minutes in the saddle.

Guests are recommended to book their riding experience early during their holiday so there’d be time to reschedule in case of inclement weather and when staying at Kionslieu you will receive a 10% discount!
